The current research aims of Prof. Shao's group include:

1) The mechanisms of radiation-induced radioresistance of tumors, the regulation genes and biomarkers indicating the efficiency and prognosis of radiotherapy, and the biological responses induced by different irradiations of photon, proton and heavy ions.

2) The molecular mechanisms of radiation-induced bystander effect (RIBE) and abscopal effect (RIAE). We have contributed dozens of articles in this field since 2001.
